The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.
SASSA will be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is actually alarmed regarding the substantial amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office SRD committed to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance place designed for intervention activities a substantial influx of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for your Workplace to attend SRD to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to enable the servicing of all prospects and raise entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
